Movement of the platform is based on the concept of a center fulcrum and an alternating right/left, up and down motion. The machine stimulates the most natural movement allowing stretches/positions and with the widest range of benefits. The action also simulates the natural crossover, loco motor pattern that forms the basis for human walking or running. This pattern also allows for the stabilization of the spine and head, due to the left-right, natural tilting action of the pelvis, during locomotion. The platform’s vibrations cause instability throughout the body. The body unconsciously stabilizes using the muscular system. This constant muscle action is what makes training effective. Users typically spend 10 to 15 minutes doing squats, lunges and other moves. As the device vibrates, muscles contract and you can feel the tingle up your legs, spine and neck. The body automatically adjusts to the machine’s vibrations by responding with a stretch reflex: the muscles contract and stretch instinctively at rates that vary between 3-50 times per second (3Hz to 50Hz) depending on the frequency that is being delivered. This stretch reflex in the muscles (via the muscle spindle during one up and down vertical movement) is actually a reflexive adjustment that is occurring in the brain. (This is the same as the patella reflex, which we see when the doctor taps the patella tendon below the kneecap. and the lower leg moves upwards without the brain being able to prevent the movement.) At the right frequency setting, the stretch reflex that occurs during Whole Body Vibration will tighten almost every muscles simultaneously. Whereas, only 45 per cent of muscle fibres are used during standard training. During Whole Body Vibration exercise your body reacts to acceleration, which is a force far greater than conventional training stimuli. And one repeated 30 or 50 times a second. Because the body has to adapt even more to overcome this greater load, you achieve your training targets sooner. Increased Flexibility
When using the machine, the muscle contracts and relaxes and all muscles and joints that are utilized during the exercise are fully mobilized. Furthermore, adhesions are loosened by the vibrations, which also helps to increase flexibility. Additionally, the Golgi apparatus in the muscles are activated while training on the machines, which causes high levels of relaxation. As the muscles are lengthened during active and functional positions while on the machines, explosive muscle strength is not affected.

When performing different exercises, the muscles supporting the joints in action will stretch, which is registered by the muscle spindles. This in turn sends a message to the cortex of the brain, which then sends signals through the spinal cord to cause a reflex contraction. Therefore changes in position are countered immediately. |
